She was predeceased by: her parent Ellsworth Carpenter; her husband John Gaidos; and her brother Butch Carpenter. She is survived by: her mother Hazel Powell Saffell of Barnesville; her children, Sherri Lontz (John) of Flushing, Michael Emory (Valarey) of Florida and Craig Emory (Kimberly) of Quaker City; and her siblings, Karen Saffell of North Carolina, John Saffell of Kansas and Tom Saffell of Virginia. She is also survived by her best friends and loyal companions, her three dogs.
