He was predeceased by: his son Bradley Cole; his great grandchild Lincoln Cole; his brothers, Donald Cole (Charlotte) and Herbert Cole; his brother-in-law Jim Van Horn; and his half-sister Virginia Fields (Ralph).
He is survived by: his wife Doris Kring; his sons, Gregory Cole (Vicki) of Findlay and Gary Cole (Brenda) of Six Mile; his grandchildren, Andrew Cole (Jodi) and Sarah Sorn (Brad); his great grandchildren, Evan Sorn, Levi Sorn and Oliver Cole; his siblings, Foster Cole (Beverly) of Mount Blanchard, Everett Cole (Karen) of New Castle, Indiana, Barbara Van Horn of Auburn, Annabelle Cole of Findlay, Clarabelle Van Horn (Richard) of Celina and Carolyn Thomas (Edward) of Findlay; and his sister-in-law Sabra Cole of Avon Lake. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
