He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman A. Rieker and Mary Elizabeth Rieker (Kuhn); his wife Margaret Ruth Altwies; and his brothers, Ben Rieker and Jim Rieker.

He is survived by: his children, J. Michael Rieker of Plymouth, Michigan, Nancy Durden (Johnny) of Aiken, Thomas Rieker (Pam) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and David Rieker (Ellie) of Toledo, Ohio; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Greene (Michael), Cheryl Durden, John Durden, David Rieker (Jess), Christopher Rieker (Christie), Ben Rieker, Brad Rieker (Mary), Alex Rieker, Abby Jaeger (Michael) and Caty Rieker; and his great grandchildren, Caitlyn Greene, Cameron Rieker, Owen Rieker, Riley Rieker and Wren Jaeger.
