With profound sadness, we say goodbye to George Martin Whitson of Findlay, Ohio, born in East Lansing, Michigan, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. George left this world on October 13, 2024 at the age of 93, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Whitson and Gertrude Whitson (Foster); his son Paul Whitson; his granddaughters, Katie Ann Whitson and Tess Louise Whitson; and his sister Sally Sullivan.
He is survived by: his wife Shirlee Jacobs; his children, Diane Hite (Clifford) of Findlay, Barbara George (Bob) of Findlay, Linda Stocker (Scott) of Lexington, Kentucky and John Whitson (Patricia) of Findlay; his daughter-in-law Cynthia Whitson of Findlay; and his sister Nancy Kandel of Long Island. He is also survived by 18 grand children and 14 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in George's name may be made to the University of Findlay, 1000 North Main Street or Winebrenner Theological Seminary, 950 North Main Street, Findlay, Ohio 45840.
