He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Burkin and Marjorie Burkin (Thompson); his daughter Barbara Mathias (Jon) of Fremont; his former wife Nancy Burkin of Fremont, OH; his stepmother Dorothy; his grandfather Arthur Thompson (Jessie); his sister Georganna Krueger; his stepdaughter Karen Connors-O'Dell; his great grandchild Jodi Tantari; and his pets, Archie, Shatzie, Calie and Bailey.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Swanson; his children, Bethany Burkin (Todd Myers) of Clyde, Bryan Burkin (Sharon) of Findlay, Brent Burkin of Fremont, Tim Monaghan (Tracy), Shannon Shartell (Don) of Pandora, OH and Kendra James (Todd) of Findlay, OH; his grandchildren, Nicole Mathias, Travis Burkin (Adriana), Brock Mathias, Thad McGilton, Paige McGilton, Ashley Businger (Tyler), Kira Tantari (Devon), Teage Martin (Danielle), Joshua Shartell, Ryan Shartell, Erin Shartell, Jeff Shartell (Jessie) and Kaitlyn Green (Eddie); his sister Patricia Christy of Fremont; and his nieces, Jody, Jamie and Rende.
