He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy R. Nelson Sr. and Mary Nelson (Prater); and his nephew Randy Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Linda M Nelson (Miller); his son Billy R. Nelson III (Tiffany) of Findlay; his grandchildren, Chae Nelson of Findlay, Wesley Earl Nelson of Findlay and Bella Rae Nelson of Findlay; his great grandchild Nollie Rae Nelson of Findlay; his siblings, Rodney Nelson (Cindy) of Findlay and Melinda Schultz (Mike) of Troy, Ohio.; and his nieces and nephews, Ryan Nelson, Rachel Nelson, Michael Schultz and Montana Schultz (Destiny).

A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Coldren-Crates Funeral Home (205 W Sandusky St, Findlay, OH 45840). Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location.

Memorial contributions may be directed towards Shriners Hospital or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
