He was predeceased by : his parents, Howard Phillips and Eugina Phillips; his son Scott Phillips; and his children-in-law, Mark Shadbolt and Marquita Woodring.

He is survived by : his wife Patricia Phillips (Bittinger); his children, Sherri Harris Christy Shadbolt (Dave) and Shane Phillips; his sister Deb Schaedler (Mel); and his sisters-in-law, Bonnie Bittinger, Pam Gambler and Barbra Phillips. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and many members of extended family and friends.

Memorial donations in Richard's memory may be given to the family for future designation.
