He was predeceased by: his wife Paula Rose Robison; his siblings, Wally Borton, Sharon Borton and Polly Roush (Ed); his brothers-in-law, Roland Turnow and Sparks Wyse; and his son-in-law Randy Merillat.

He is survived by: his children, Greg Borton (RaeNel) of Coldwater, MI, Penny Creighton (Dan) of Fayette, Gary Borton (Carol) of Fayette and Jennifer Borton of Wauseon; his grandchildren, Jason, Andrew, Fielding, Wesley, Jadea, Mac, Abigail, Austin, Joshua, Jasmine, Lee, David and Allison; his siblings, Helen Sommers (Doyle) of Oregon, OH, Martha Wyse of Archbold and Dan Borton (Nancy) of Columbus, OH; and his sisters-in-law, Iola Borton of Morenci and Beverly Kunkle (Roger) of Fayette. He is also survived by 28 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may consider memorial donations in honor of Max be given to benefit Fayette Christian Church-Disciples of Christ, or the Fayette Volunteer Fire Association.

“So sorry for your loss. I remember the times we got together at Black Lake. We would boat across the lake and visit with Aunt Paula and Uncle Max. We learned how to make the saltine crackers snack and fished for salmon. He was always ready with handy tips for lake living. I pray you find peace and comfort at this time.
