He was predeceased by: his parents, Bruce Warner and Hazel Mae Denney Hidy; and his siblings, Helen Johnson and Dale Hidy. He is survived by: his wife Joe Ann Shope Hidy; his children, Cindy Reeves (Robert), Susan Metais, Steven Cline and Jennifer McCoy (Rick); his grandchildren, Carisa Adams (Brian), Trent Reeves (Ellen), Alison Streitenberger (Ben), Phillip Metais (Courtney) and Courtney Jo Davis; and his sister Evelyn Wilson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
