He was predeceased by: his mother Sudie Bell. He is survived by: his children, Spencer Allen Hassell (Karaline), Sharrell Hassell-Goodman (Julian) of James Ryan, J. R. Hassell (Tiffany) and James Brandon Hassell (Danielle); his grandchildren, Jarya Dezriale Hassell, Ryan Jase Hassell (R. J.), Amiya Nicole Donson, Jaxson Julius Goodman and Myles Williams Hassell; and his siblings, Mattie Fields, Maxine Shivers, Sue Stubbs, Sandra Kimble (Butch), Phyllis Murray (Gregory), Richard Hassell, Doris Sanders and Kim Robinson. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society, The Fisher House Foundation, and Hospice of Dayton are appreciated.
