He was predeceased by: his son James Mathew Giffin. He is survived by: his wife Joyce (Waltman); his children, Robert Johnson (Denise) and Pamela Johnson; his stepchildren, Douglas Berry (Rhonda) and Pamela Berry; his daughter-in-law Mary Maguire; and his grandchildren, Emily Toebbe (Nathan), Sarah Giffin, Patrick Giffin, Julie Giffin, Lindsay Giffin, Stephen Monroe (Kathleen) and Elizabeth Silva. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be 11:30am, Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron 3300 Morewood Rd. Akron, Ohio 44333 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church or the Akron Food Bank 350 Opportunity Pkwy Akron, Ohio 44307.
