He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Marot and Lucille Marot. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Forster Marot; his sons, Michael (Sarah) of Indianapolis and Patrick (Mollie) of Fairfield, Ohio; his grandchildren, Joe Marot (Christina), Luke Marot (Megan), Elizabeth "Liz" Gonya (Josh), Zachary "Zack" Marot (Alexis), John Marot, Caroline Marot, Paul Marot, Kathryn "Kate" Marot and Andrew "A. J." Marot; his great grandchildren, Henry, Ava and Peyton Marot; and his brother Lee Marot. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Church or Hospice of Hamilton.

“been active members of your community and have definitely made our world a better place. You must be heartbroken! Dick was incredibly gifted and he had many interests. He continued to learn new skills throughout his life. When a huge cherry tree fell in our woods, he made us all beautiful wooden bowls; he made us mugs when you were in the mug business; and he made us a pig which our grandchildren love. He helped your boys with body work on their cars and with complicated home repair projects.”

“It seems there was nothing he couldn’t do. And throughout his life he was always kind and generous; always ready for an outing or a little adventure followed by dinner at a favorite restaurant and dessert at one of our houses. Dick was a wonderful person and we will miss him enormously.”
