He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles E. Ashton and Edith Byers Ashton; and his sisters, Donna Brands and Carol Green. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Ashton; his son Richard Todd Ashton; his grandchildren, Emily, Danielle and Bryan; his brother Jerry Ashton; and his siblings-in-law, Hank Brands and Mae Bowling. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
