He is survived by: his wife Mariam J. Spears; and his children, Patricia S. Ritter, James V. Spears (Fran) and Dr. Mark T. Spears (Katy). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
