He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Kolas and Arlene Kolas (Ward); and his mother-in-law Patricia McMurray. He is survived by: his children, Samantha Schnitzer (Brock), Anthony Kolas (Brandi), Lauren Kolas and Logan Kolas; his grandsons, Zachary Schnitzer, Brayden Schnitzer and Landon Kolas; his sister Diane Hawkins; his stepmother Mary Ann Kolas; his father-in-law Harry McMurray; and his brother-in-law Steve James (Debbie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial donations may be made to Hilltop Baptist Church in Donald's honor.
