It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ben Bartels (Fairfield, Ohio), born in Hamilton, Ohio, who passed away on November 23, 2020, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin J. Bartels and Esslye L Bartels (Briggs); his daughter Linda O'Brien; his sister Tamea Bartels Agle; and his nephews, Ed Agle and Tom Agle.
He is survived by: his wife Greta Faye Foley; his son-in-law Robert O'Brien of Vilas, NC; his sons, Ed Bennett Bartels (Connie) of Hamilton and Todd W. Bartels (Michele) of Roanoke; his grandchildren, Jay O'Brien (Megan), Chris O'Brien (Samantha), Kelly Chapman (Andrew), Laura Humphries (Kyler), Jeremy Bartels, Carrie Price (Mike), Tyler Bartels, Sean Bartels (Dianna) and Joshua Bartels (Sydney); and his niece Carla Church (Rick). He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lindenwald Baptist Church or the Fairfield Community Foundation for the Greta and Bennett Bartels Scholarship Fund.
