He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Ruth Ellen Farthing (Slone); his children, Melissa Rodgers (Daniel Lee), Leah Mahrt (Jason), Casey Farthing (Chris Shelton) and William Farthing; his grandchildren, Matthew (Nathan Mahrt), William (Hunter Boyle), Devin Carter, Harleigh (Christopher Shelton) and Layla (William Farthing); his sister Eileen Bailey; and his parents, Leroy Farthing and Helen Farthing (McElwee).
