He was predeceased by: his wife Bernice Whitt; his parents, Robert Whitt and Maxine Whitt; his sisters, Darlene Bowling and Katherine Howard; and his stepson Shawn Johnson.
He is survived by: his son Tommy Whitt Jr.; his sisters, Norma Watkins and Marsha Ratliff; and his stepdaughter Lisa Johnson. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
