He was predeceased by: his parent James Pettit; his sons, Vic Stidham, James Maxwell and Robin Maxwell; and his siblings, Chester, Elbert, Eugene, Linvil, Charlie and Goldie Race.
He is survived by: his parent Icie Pettit (Lewis); his wife Dosha Margaret Pettit; his daughters, Heather Hedges of Dayton and Brenda Watkins of Muncie, IN; and his sister Ulie Baldwin. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
