He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Swope and Treva Swope; his wife Rebecca Swope; and his brother Dave Swope. He is survived by: his children, Erika Nelson (Josh) of South Charleston and Tim Swope (Becca) of Grantham; his grandchildren, Carly, Brooke Nelson, Claire and Jonah Swope; and his brother Jerry Swope (Carole). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Make a Wish Foundation or Rona Community Church.
