He was predeceased by: his parents, James Earl and Olive Martha Elenor Syling (Blair); his wife Joyce; and his siblings, Jim, Mariam and Dutch.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Kauffman (Tim) of Springfield, Doug Syling of Beavercreek and Julie Lucas (Steve) of Franklin; and his grandchildren, Shelby and Brady. He is also survived by other extended family, and friends.
