He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth Woebkenberg Koenig. He is survived by: his children, David Koenig (Cheryl) of Toledo, Kathryn Uetrecht (David) of Springdale and Julie Shouse (Garry) of Milford; his close friend Peggy Bachmann; and his grandchildren, Brett Uetrecht, Kelly Heis (Uetrecht), Bailey Uetrecht, Cara Van Horn (Uetrecht), Joshua Shouse, Kyle Shouse, Lauren Shouse, Paige Hill (Koenig), Claire Goodin (Koenig) and Scott Koenig. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to St. Rita's School for the Deaf.
