He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Knapke and Lorena Knapke (Vogel); his former wife Margaret Knapke (Dues); his grandson Andrew Knapke; his foster parents, Dick Barr and Jan Barr; and his sister-in-law Lorraine Knapke.
He is survived by: his nephew Rick; his brother Dick; his wife Georgene (Simmons Ford); his children, Kimberly Armbruster (Roger), Daniel Knapke Jr. (Laurie), Kelly Carner (Joseph), Traci Mader (Kevin), Douglas Knapke (Sara) and Jacqueline Knapke (Jay Twomey); his stepchildren, Jerry Ford II (Laura) and Leslie Ray (Michael); and his brother Larry Knapke. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.
