He was predeceased by: his parents, William Petrakos and Marilyn Petrakos (Kenzie); and his father-in-law Charles Smith. He is survived by: his wife Deborah "Debbie" Petrakos (Smith); his son Jason; his daughter-in-law Megan Petrakos of Brunswick; his grandchildren, Jacey, Nicholas, Maya, Ty and Breanna; his siblings, Carol Allee (Steve) and Steven Petrakos of Dayton; his mother-in-law Betty Smith of Union; and his brothers-in-law, Chuck Smith (Judy) of Kettering and Brad Smith of Union. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
