He was predeceased by: his parents, Elza Pascal and Edna Ruth Mowry (Heigher); his wife Joyce Mae (Carter); his siblings, Keith Merrill (Mary), Byron Edward, Harold Scott, Elza Paul, Dale Elden, Lois Irene Duke (Russell), Ruth Alice Karns and Betty Jean Horowitz (Aaron); and his stepgranddaughter Bethany Croxdale.
He is survived by: his children, John Mowry (Ellen) and Roxanne Sparling (Mark); his sister Delores Pequignot (Gene); his sisters-in-law, Dona, Sandra and Verna; his grandsons, John (Amanda), Brock, Wil, Philip Sparling (Leah), James Sparling and Thomas Sparling (Krista); his stepgrandchildren, Jennifer, David, Paul, Christopher Croxdale and Kara Marlowe; and his great grandchildren, Serenity, Justin, Angel, Alexandra, Presley Scott and Aven Sparling. He is also survived by numerous step-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
