He was predeceased by: his son Christopher Gene Kelly; his stepson Jerry Allen Timmer; his sister Carol A. Zellner; and his parents, Hubert W. Kelly and Pauline N. Kelly.
He is survived by: his wife Mary L. Kelly (Raber); his stepdaughters, Jennifer Brynn Timmer of Rochester, Jaime Christine Timmer of Montherod and Switzerland; his niece Ashley Schoeppner of Bowie, Maryland.; his siblings, Mark A. Kelly of Seminole and Connie J. Kelly of Sheffield Lake; his daughter Wendy Kelly Bastyr; his son-in-law Rick Bastyr of Western Springs; and his son Joel Mark Kelly of California. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
