He was predeceased by: his wife Beulah Howells (Ballard); and his parents, John Howells and Nora Howells (Metzler). He is survived by: his stepsons, Jerry King (Sherri) of Clayton and Robert King of New Lebanon; and his sisters, Elizabeth Bauer and Mary Echelmeyer. He is also survived by 8 step-grandchildren, numerous step-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National Museum of the United States Air Force.
