He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles O. Gilmore and Laura Applegate; and his sister Brenda. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Gilmore (Krauss); his son Charles David Gilmore (Lauren); his stepson Bryan Carnes (Stephanie) of Monroe; his grandchildren, Gavin, Elle, Mason and Reese; and his siblings-in-law, Kathy Hosmer (James) of Oregonia and Michael Krauss of Englewood. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
