She is survived by: her sons, Patrick Fitzgerald (Karin) and Scott Fitzgerald (Melissa); her grandchildren, Rylee, Andrew and Ryan; and her brothers, Tom (Sue Olson) and Maurice Olson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

“Pat, Scott, Karin and Melissa our hearts break for you. Aunt Carolyn was an amazing woman in so many ways. She could cook better than anyone I know. Although my daughters (Rachel and Kendall) were young when your Mom cooked for them in Traverse City, they still remember Aunt Carolyn’s cooking. I’ve never been able to make Schmora as well as her. She had a wonderful sense of humor. I LOVED her laugh! Most important she had a heart so big you could feel the hugs through the phone. Katie Johnson”
