She was predeceased by: her parents, Stewart Austin and Edith Austin; her siblings, Mamie Thomas, Mattie Lynch, Corena Faulkner and Robert Austin (Matthew Barker Sr); and her son Matthew Barker Jr..

She is survived by: her sister Bertha Barry; and her children, Sheryl Wicks (Mario), Dollie Barker and Kenneth Barker. She is also survived by six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
