He was predeceased by: his wife Loretta J.; his parents, Arvids Dakters and Elza Dakters; and his sister Inese Dimitrijevs. He is survived by: his children, Russell G. Dakters (Vicki), Richard P. Dakters (Tracie) of Perry, OH, Gregory J. Dakters of Canal Fulton, OH and Ann E. Kasch (Scott) of Melbourne, FL; his grandchildren, Brittany Shaw (Adam), Patrick Dakters (Chelsea), Olivia Liotta (Stephen), Madeleine Nelson (Micah), Maia Dakters, Lauren Dakters, Amanda Coville (Kyle), Benjamin Dakters and Marissa Kasch; his great grandchildren, Norah Davis, Carter Shaw, Charlotte Dakters, Micah Nelson, Jr. and Ezra Liotta; his nephew Leonard Dimitrijevs (Darlene); and his brother-in-law Edward J. Miller (Dolores). He is also survived by three nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service (323 Middle Ave, Elyria, OH 44035). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at the Calvary Cemetery (555 N Ridge Rd, Lorain, OH 44053).
