He was predeceased by: his wife Shirly Louise Szakal; and his son Joseph Anthony Szakal. He is survived by: his children, Debra Sue Szakal of Sheffield, John David Szakal (Rhonda) of Elyria and Jason Adam Szakal (Megan) of Whipple, Ohio.; his sister Ilona Szakal Kish (Jeno) of Amherst; and his close friend Linda Slanczka of Sheffield. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
