He was predeceased by: his son James Paul Dechant; and his siblings, Ruth Wensink, Mary Jane Marie Dechant and Ken Dechant. He is survived by: his wife Thelma; his children, Judy Keys (Tom), Cathleen Bahrami, Becky Notley (John), Rita Dodd, Dan Dechant (Ginger) and David Dechant (Julie); and his sister Rosemarie Dechant. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
