He was predeceased by: his parents, James Boyd Thompson and Ruth Randleman Johnson; his aunt Shirley Randleman; and his siblings, James Moman (Toby) and Marilyn Yates.
He is survived by: his son David Thompson; his grandson Elijah Thompson; and his sisters, Jennie Graves and Donzella Gass (Lloyd). He is also survived by Aunts, Uncles, host of nieces, nephews, cousins.
