He was predeceased by: his former wife Shelia; his parents, I. Charles Pluta and Shirley Pluta; and his brothers, Brian, Barry and Gary Pluta.

He is survived by: his fiancé Lee Ann Owens; his son Joshua DiPietro of Ashland; and his siblings, Beverly Mann (Robert) of North Ridgeville, Linda Garramone (Jon) of North Ridgeville, James Pluta (Jan Brooks) of Dalton and Carl Pluta (Denyce) of North Ridgeville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
