With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Byrness E. Haworth of Elyria, Ohio, born in Sioux City, Iowa, who passed away on March 18, 2025 at the age of 103. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Byrness may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Byrness touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her husband Robert; and her siblings, Vern, Esther and Arnold. She is survived by: her children, Janet (Ray) and Ric (Roberta); her grandchildren, Forrest, Kendall (Deb), Preston (Michelle) and Randall; her great grandchildren, Julian, Sebastian and Trystian; and her nephew Bill (Gayle).

“Byrness was also a licensed amateur radio operator. Her FCC call letters were W8LE, which were her husband Bob's call letters prior to his passing. Byrness was the oldest member of the Quarter Century Wireless Association (QCWA) Chapter 1 in Cleveland, Ohio. She kept in touch with Bob via ham radio while he traveled the world in the merchant marine. Our condolences to the family. (Bob Winston, W2THU, President QCWA Chapter 1. Email [email protected])”
