He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl W. James and Inez L. James (Bucher); his former wives, Eileen James and Elaine James; his wife Maridene James; his daughter Kathleen James; and his stepchildren, Larry Garber, Cindy Brower, David McCloud and Gary McCloud.
He is survived by: his daughter Deborah Patton (Tom) of New Paris, OH; his grandchildren, Lee Patton (Mandee) of New Paris, OH and Amanda Davies of New Paris, OH; his great grandchildren, Macyn Patton, Nolan Patton, Sawyer Davies and Brynn Davies; and his stepchildren, Jim McCloud (Dianne) of Eaton, OH, Richard McCloud (Betsy) of Eaton, OH, Terry McCloud (Penny) of Richmond, IN, Kathy McCloud of Tennessee, Cindy McCloud of Eaton, OH, Connie Petry, Terrell Garber and Kenny Garber. He is also survived by numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
