He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. Merritt and Marjorie J. Merritt (Fuller); his son Daniel; and his pet Zoe. He is survived by: his wife Susan M. Connor; and his siblings, Mike, Tim, Becky and Tina. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials are requested to a charity of the donor's choice.
