He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ruby Fast and Sherley Fast; his wife Marcia Fast (Miller); his children, Matthew, Lonnie, Lisa Fast of Bryan, Ohio, Lori Fast-Minkema (Ken) of Hamden, Connecticut and Lyle Fast (Melissa) of London, Ohio; his grandsons, Ethan, Adam Minkema and Russell Fast; and his sisters, Lois Baker, Ruthie Yuill and Marjorie Bennett. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
