He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Salyer and Esther Salyer (Meadows); his wife Geraldine Ann Salyer (Johnson); and his siblings, Jerry Salyer, Paul Patrick (Phyllis), Ann Black (Clarence) and Hazel Brashear.
He is survived by: his children, Tammy Embree (Jeff) and Tim Salyer (David Johnson); his grandchildren, David Embree (Kirby) and Michelle Embree; and his sisters, Louise Johnson (Bobby), June Crace (Mitchell "Bill") and Virginia Maffett (Steve). He is also survived by 4 great-granddaughters.
Memorials are requested to Dekalb Humane Society or a Children's Hospital of the donor's choice.
