He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert S. Bentley and Hilda M. Bentley (Hatt); and his siblings, Verl, Bernard, Rexford Bentley, Linda Furr and Robin Bentley.

He is survived by: his spouse Cheryl A. Keller; his children, Tracy Bentley (Kelly) of Fayette, Jody Bentley of Morenci, Troy Bentley (Melissa) of Fayette, Robert Bentley (Kami) of Montpelier, Aron Bowlin (Maria) of Oceanside, Treysa Bowlin of Bryan, Elizabeth Kimble (Jason) of Hudson, Lara Wyse of Hudson and Mary Kimble (Joe) of Hudson; and his siblings, Curtis Bentley (Karen) of Fayette, Bervolee Kerr of Camden and Faye Kerr (Allen) of Alvordton. He is also survived by twenty four grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
