She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Akers and Dina Akers (Flannery); her son Wayne Vance; and her siblings, Danny Akers and Elizabeth Smith.

She is survived by: her husband Herbert E. Charlton; her children, Luther Vance of Edgerton, Jody Vance (Edith) of West Jefferson, Ohio and Kaitlyn Ward of Edgerton; and her siblings, Ann Akers of Tomahawk, Kentucky, Greg Akers of Tennessee and Michael Akers of Bryan, Ohio.
