He was predeceased by: his parents, Vard Shaffer and Elzie Shaffer (Knauss); his grandson Zachary Shaffer; and his siblings, Loren Shaffer, Della and Sharon.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon L. Swary; his children, Jeffrey Shaffer of Hicksville, Chad Shaffer (Cynthia Moore) of Edgerton, Jamy Shaffer of Edgerton, Christina Davis of Edgerton and Charnel Hazelton (Richard) of Edgerton; his grandchildren, Shelby, Joshua, Elizabeth, Alex, Alyssa, Noah, Sydney, Kyli, Chloe, Kyndal, Rikkelle and Richie; and his sisters, Cathy Shaffer, Brenda Crane and Margaret Shaffer.
Due to the ongoing pandemic restrictions, the family will receive friends while observing social distancing precautions.
