He was predeceased by: his parents, David Beattie and Ruth Beattie (Helton). He is survived by: his wife Nancy L. Beattie (Mates); his children, Robin Isabella (Jason Pitten) and Richard Beattie, Jr.; his grandchildren, Mia Isabella, Sydney Isabella and Karsen Pitten; and his siblings, Sharon Aulicino (Roger) and Wayne Beattie (Jean). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
