He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Murphy and Mildred Whistlar Murphy. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Murphy (Laughren); his children, Jeff Murphy (Mary) of New Galilee, Jim Murphy (Gaylan) of New Galilee, Ted Murphy (Barb) of Hillsville, Russell Murphy (Linda) of East Palestine and Barb Thompson (Jesse) of Negley; and his brother Gary Murphy (Georgia-Ann) of Darlington. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
