He is survived by: his children, Jenean Eberhardt of La Jolla, CA. and Gerald H. Smith II (Christina Leckie) of Virginia; his grandchildren, Heston, Docie, Christina and Eric; his siblings, Hershel Howard Smith (Linda Braun), Ann Maysick and Barbara Cain; and his stepsons, David Walker and Robert Myers. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
