He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam J. Amato, Sr. and Catherine "Kate" Luckino Amato; his wife Ann Maria Scafide Amato; his son Sam J. Amato, III; and his brother Vincent Amato.
He is survived by: his daughter Toni Maria Amato of East Liverpool; his grandchildren, Michael and Alana DeBord; his brothers, Dr. Jack Amato (Penny) of Irondale and Dr. Joseph Amato (Jane) of Columbus; and his sister-in-law Amy Amato of East Liverpool.
