He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Cummins and Beulah Mae Butler (Wilson); his spouse Jean Estella Thompson; his brothers, Roy Lincoln Bannon, Thomas Cummins Butler Jr., George Edward Butler, Harley Alfred Butler and William Earl Butler; his daughter-in-law Barbara Rae Butler (Kyle); and his grandson Joel Dale Church II.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cynthia Jean Fletcher and Loretta Gayle Church; his son-in-law Ronald Lee Church of McKees Rocks, PA.; his son David Leslie Butler; and his great grandchildren, Michael Erin Fletcher II, Kystin Sierra Westfall, Cassidy Rene Fletcher, Katelyn Michele Westfall, Evander Matthew Marcus, Samantha Lee Faraone and Maxwell Xavier Newsome. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
He loved to work jigsaw puzzles and raised money for the East Palestine Fire Department, East Palestine Public Schools and other worthy causes in East Palestine with donations he received from the community for his completed puzzles.
