He was predeceased by: his parents, Rollie Carter Sr. and Pearline Davis Carter; his wife Claudette Collins Carter; and his son Chauncey Thompson. He is survived by: his daughter Tonya Ann; his stepsons, David Craig (Pam) and Darrell Craig (Shemekia); his sons, Elliott Carter (Dawn), Cornell Carter (Lisa) and Donnell Carter (Taresha); and his siblings, Carter, Rollie Carter, Nora Lee Forest, Claudia Mae Cates, Dorothy Christine Reed and Maudrine Quarles. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
