He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Louise Roberts and Cornelius Eddie McClain; and his brother Lamarr Roberts. He is survived by: his children, Diamonte Harper, Derrick Mattox, DeShaun Roberts and Emmani Roberts; his granddaughter Nayla Harper; his siblings, Vada Mack, Leslie Claytor, Duane Roberts and Dana Roberts; his nieces, Christen Newson and Amanda Mack-Rashid; his nephew Kayin Claytor; and his great-nephew A'myus Shabazz. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
